The original gear was salvaged from a turn-of-the-century mantel clock. The bee itself was a really popular metal stamping that was made in a Connecticut brass-mill. The bronze for this piece was sourced from a certified 100% green company that recycles and purifies precious metals. In my opinion there’s no need to dig anymore out of the earth. There’s plenty around. The bee is an ancient symbol of prosperity. Napoleon had a bee symbol on his crest, and It was also the symbol among the great craft guild halls of Europe. Me? I just love bees. Thanks for having a look! -Blue
